South Dakota FFA boasts many top finishers at national convention in Indianapolis

The event was held in person for the first time in two years.

INDIANAPOLIS — A number of South Dakota FFA participants returned from the National FFA Convention with top honors, which was held Oct. 27-30 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The event was held in person for the first time in two years, with events, workshops and keynote speakers, capping months of hard work in preparation.

Among the highlights, Lauren Roling, of McCook Central, was the National FFA Agriscience Fair winner in Social Science Division 1. West Central’s McKenna Sichmeller and Josslin Jarding were the winners of the National FFA Agriscience Fair winners in Food Products and Processing Systems in Division 6. McCook Central FFA Advisor Terry Rieckman was recognized with a national FFA Citation for his years of service.

  • 2nd Place Veterinary Science Team: Grace Digiovanni, Ashtyn Wobig, Ella Stiefvater, and Hadley Stiefvater, McCook Central

  • 3rd Place Livestock Evaluation Team: Ryan Blagg, Colton Stiefvater, Lane Deutsch, and Max Nordlund, McCook Central

  • 6th Place Veterinary Science Individual: Grace Digiovanni, McCook Central

  • 8th Place Veterinary Science Individual: Ella Stiefvater, McCook Central
