Value-Added Agriculture Development Center Inc. in Pierre has been awarded a $200,000 USDA grant to provide technical assistance to agribusinesses.
Secretary Tom Vilsack announced the award Wednesday as one of 34 organizations receiving $6 million to help rural cooperatives and small businesses expand and strengthen their capacity to serve rural residents and communities.
VAADC is funded by 16 producer-based ag commodity groups, trade organizations and cooperatives dedicated to the development of value-added agricultural businesses in South Dakota.
