HOWARD -- Two businesses failed a recent alcohol compliance check in Howard performed by the South Central Alcohol Task Force.
At the Longbranch Bar, the clerk did not ask to see the confidential informant's identification and sold the person alcohol. At Rusty's Food Store, the clerk asked for identification, but still made the sale.
These are first failures for both businesses in a 24-month period.
Five other businesses passed the checks -- The Batter's Box in Canova, and Don's Place, Rafferty Robbins Drug, Corner Pantry and the Howard Athletic Club, all in Howard.
The South Central Alcohol Task Force is comprised of Aurora County, Davison County and Miner County sheriff's offices and the Mitchell Police Division.
