The XFL, a short-lived football league that sought to fuse the sport with the over-the-top theatrics of pro wrestling, will return to the gridiron in 2020, World Wrestling Entertainment founder and Chairman Vince McMahon said on Thursday. McMahon said the XFL, which originally launched in 2001 and lasted only one season, will kick off with eight teams and will play a "shorter, faster-paced, family-friendly and easier to understand" brand of the game during the NFL's offseason.

Rahm shot a 5-under-par 67 to post a combined 22-under and force extra holes with American Andrew Landry, who fired a final round 68. The legendary sportscaster died late on Friday surrounded by family. KAPALUA, Hawaii — World No. 1 Dustin Johnson eased to an 8-shot victory at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii on Sunday. Johnson entered the final round with a 2-shot advantage and blew away the field with an 8-under-par 65 at the wide open Kapalua Plantation course on Maui. The 33-year-old, who won four times last season, picked up four birdies on the first nine and added three more to go along with an eagle at the par-4 12th hole to shut the door on the competition. His only blemish was a bogey at the 11th.

A man fired as a food worker at Green Bay, Wisconsin's Lambeau Field stadium tried to assault a former co-worker with his car on Friday and crashed it into a storage room near the playing field of the National Football League's Packers, police said. The 20-year-old man, whose name was not released, was taken into custody a few minutes after the incident began and left no tread marks on the field dubbed the "Frozen Tundra," for its fabled football games in wintry conditions.
