GRAND FORKS, N.D.—Dutch-oven cooking is one of my favorite ways to prepare winter meals. Most of us think of a large cast-iron pot when you hear "Dutch oven," but in reality, a Dutch oven is any large pot with an oven-proof lid, making it easy to use both on the stovetop and in the oven. The recipe I am going to share with you today is for French Onion Chicken. French onion soup is one of my favorite cold-weather soups, but I can only convince one of the three boys onion soup is delicious.
Brunch is one of my favorite holiday meals. It's not only a festive way to start the day, but there also usually is a little something for everyone in the meal: eggs, meats, breads, coffee drinks and non-coffee drinks. Plus, it doesn't require you to get up too early, and it also is a great precursor to an afternoon nap. OK, that might make me sound a little lazy, but it's the holidays, so if I want to take a nap and the kids will let me, I am going for it. Here are two of my morning favorites that are sure to get your holiday gatherings off to a good start.
GRAND FORKS, N.D.—Baby showers are often thought of as something that are loaded with soft pinks or baby blues, or, if the gender is unknown, sometimes you will get an array of pastel yellows and greens. This fall, I just so happen to be co-planning a shower with my two sisters-in-law for my husband's younger sister.
