To the Editor: When it's near to Christmas time, the newscasters put up pictures of Santa pulling his sleigh. I believe they should be showing a picture of a cross. I think it is detrimental to children to make them believe in Santa. They even put times on television when Santa will arrive in the U.S. The news of Jesus being born was so vast in those days that time changed to B.C. (before Christ) and A.D.
To the Editor: There is only one God; the God of Jacob, Isaac and Abraham. The Father of Jesus Christ, who is also God. Yes there are three God heads, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. However, they are one. Just like H20 is two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen which makes the one thing known as water. There are many people who declare the devil as the god of this world. I must protest. He is not God, he is the devil. He's no god at all. The same goes for people that make money or cars or motorcycles or any inanimate thing their god.
To the Editor: The pre-existence of Jesus Christ is explained in many verses in the Bible. Jesus said, "before Abraham was, I am." This means He is eternal. He also prayed to the Father once saying, "And now O Father, glorify me together with yourself, with the glory which I had with you before the world was." In the book of John, John wrote about Jesus saying, "All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made." So, He existed before the world was made. We cannot comprehend how Jesus, as God, became a man. However, the fact remains, He did.
To the Editor: Evolution offends me because it teaches there is no God.The teaching that we are just an accident from a mud puddle has corrupted the morality of our young people today. The dictionary defines religion as a faith-based worship. This makes evolution a religion itself. It takes more than faith to believe in evolution that it takes faith to believe in Adam and Eve. There is no history on evolution, only suppositions.
To the Editor: "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him." This verse in the Bible tells us a little bit how wonderful and beautiful Heaven will be. Just imagine how someone who created the Earth with all its beauty would make Heaven. Our Earth has mountains, streams, oceans, jungles and deserts. Yes, even deserts are beautiful in a way. He made the trees and grass and all of the animals, which are all unique.
To the Editor: We as a people condone pornography, gay rights, abortion, false religions and cults. Yet, the Lord's hand is stretched out still. He wants us to change. He wants us to forgive us. We have taken the Bible out of schools, promoted separation of church and state, and because of that, we cannot even say the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in public places.
To the Editor: I want to be like my hero because he is kind, gracious, patient, forgiving, merciful, compassionate and very courageous. He is also humble. He is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is perfect. Over 2,000 years ago, the Lord was born as a man on the Earth. He was God, too. Thank goodness for Him. Since He was born, He's changed the lives of millions of people. Because of Him, we have salvation and the possibility of eternal life. I know He wasn't born on Dec.
To The Editor: When we were small, if we were fortunate, we had loving parents who mentored us. They taught us about the one true love, Jesus Christ. We had our brothers and sisters to be kind to. Myself, something I'm ashamed of, I always had sibling rivalry with my brother until we got older. Then as we become teenagers we are ushered into loving the opposite sex. When we think we've found the right one, we marry and become one flesh. Then we have children to teach about love and try to show them our love.
To the Editor: Until we put God back into the country, we can expect more and more violence like we saw in Connecticut. It's not guns that kill; it's people with no moral values that kill. Just look at how our country has been on a downhill slide. And I believe it's because we took prayer out of school, we don't allow Bibles in school and we aren't supposed to even use the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in public. Evolution teaching is a big problem. It teaches children there is no God. And separation of church of state is something our founding fathers never thought possible.
To the Editor: I believe in most everything the Apostles’ Creed says, except I do not believe the Lord descended into Hell. How could our Father allow such a thing?...
