NDSU names Klieman as head football coach FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The next head football coach at North Dakota State says the powerful Football Championship Subdivision program will continue to reload, not rebuild. School officials announced Sunday that Chris Klieman (KLY’-min) will be taking over for Craig Bohl, the most successful football coach in school history. Bohl is leaving for Wyoming. The 47-year-old Klieman is completing his third season as an assistant coach with the Bison, the last two as defensive coordinator.
TYNDALL — Cole Paulson led all players with 43 points and helped the Freeman boys’ basketball team to an 86-63 overtime victory over Bon Homme Monday. Freeman’s Brennan Schmidt had 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for a double-double. The Flyers were 31-of-59 from the field, 8-of-19 from behind the arc and 16-of-22 from the line. Freeman had 32 rebounds, 14 steals and committed 18 turnovers. Bon Homme was led by Jon Barrett with 23 points. Scott Van Winkle, Mike Mesman and Scott Wieseler each had 18 points in the loss. Van Winkle also had eight assists and seven rebounds.
MILLER — Davion Brooks scored 22 points to help the Sanborn Central/Woonscocket boys’ basketball team beat Sunshine Bible Academy 68-46 Saturday. Brooks also tallied six rebounds and three steals for the Blackhawks. Tyler Krueger added 14 points, seven rebounds and five steals, while Brady Tiede had eight points and eight rebounds for the SCW, which shot 27 of 58 from the field. Brian LaDue led the way for Sunshine Bible Academy with 24 points and eight rebounds.
