Sammartino, an Italian immigrant and fan favorite who was heavyweight champion of the World Wide Wrestling Federation, the precursor of World Wrestling Entertainment, for a record 11 years in the 1960s and '70s, has died at 82, the WWE announced on April 18, 2018.
