Doane upends DWU in season-opening dual
Dakota Wesleyan University opened its home wrestling schedule Friday with a 37-13 dual loss to Doane at the Christen Family Athletic Center.
Patrick West had an 11-3 major decision for the Tigers at 157 pounds and Tanner Wernsman had an 8-7 decision for DWU at 174 pounds. Forrest Lewis was the beneficiary of a forfeit at 165 pounds.
Doane benefitted from three forfeits, two technical falls and a pin at 197 pounds in the victory.
DWU will host the annual DWU Open today, starting at 9 a.m. Fifteen teams are scheduled to be on hand at the Christen Center.
