DWU women’s golf 19th after first round at NAIA nationals
LINCOLN, Neb. — The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s golf team is tied for 19th after the first day of competition at the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb.
The Tigers carded a 332 in the first round Tuesday and there will be a team cut after the second round today. The top 17 teams will compete in the final two rounds. DWU is three strokes behind Loyola University (La.), which is currently in 17th.
Chelsea Burback led the Tigers with a 79 in the first round and is tied for 35th, whil April Barnett is tied for 66th after carding an 83.
Oklahoma City University is leading the team standings after shooting a field-low 302.
