Tigers drop pair at DWU Classic

The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to the College of St. Mary and Dakota State University.

DWU (3-5) lost both matches 3-1, falling to the Flames 25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23 and the Trojans 25-15, 26-24, 11-25, 25-8.

Against St. Mary, Sarah Kruse led offensively with 13 kills, Mallory Jark had 11 kills and three blocks and Marissa Soderberg had 10 kills and three blocks. Briana Jung had 26 assists in the loss, while Rebecca Garcia had 21.

Jark had a game-high 13 kills against the Trojans, while Taylor Spence tallied 14 digs. Maggie Stehly and Katie Lindow recorded 13 and 10 digs, respectively. Stehly also had three aces and Jung led in assists with 17.

The Tigers play at Presentation College at 7:30 p.m. today in Aberdeen.
