DWU men's soccer open season with a win

LA CROSSE, Wis -- The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team kicked off its 2013 campaign with a 3-1 win over Viterbo University Saturday.

The Tigers took the lead after scoring on a Chaz Foss unassisted goal. DWU added to its lead with a second goal from the foot of Brier Derby. Wesleyan's final goal came from Sam Roberts, who netted his goal on a put back.

The Tigers took 20 shots, six of which were on goal. Goalkeeper Alex Nelson had five saves for Wesleyan.

DWU (1-0) hosts Clarke University at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in its home opener.
