SD United Legacy wins Brookings tourney

BROOKINGS -- The South Dakota United Legacy soccer team won the South Dakota State Cup in the girls U17 division over the weekend in Brookings.

Mitchell Kernel player Kayla Stangeland plays for the team, along with other players from across the state and two girls from North Dakota. SD United Legacy beat teams from Sioux Falls, Yankton and Brookings/Watertown to win its division, and it is headed to the 2014 U.S. Youth Region II Championship June 20-25 in Beavercreek, Ohio.
