MSHA opening ice this summer

The Mitchell Skating and Hockey Association is opening the ice arena for business this summer, which is a first for the city. MSHA is kicking off the summer with a Rock N’ Skate party Wednesday at the Mitchell Activities Center.

All ages family skate is from 6 to 7:30 p.m., while teens and tweens skate is from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the night features a disc jockey, disco lights, concessions, games and prizes. Cost is $5 per person or $15 per family, including skate rental.

Open skate will continue Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. from June 3 to July 17. There are also learn-to-skate lessons every Tuesday from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., and there’s an opportunity to rent the ice by the hour for parties, practices, etc.
