Winner football team remains undefeated

WINNER — The second-ranked Winner Warriors remained undefeated after beating No. 3 St. Thomas More 30-13 Tuesday in Winner.

The game was rescheduled twice.

“We were a little flat at some points tonight,” Winner coach Dan Aaker said in a phone interview after the game. “But I’m very happy with how our kids handled the situation.”

Trace Meyer led all players with 19 carries for 166 yards and three touchdowns. He also had seven tackles. Nate Galbraith had 11 carries for 110 yards and one touchdown for the Warriors, who rushed 48 times for 368 yards.

Shayden Drey led defensively with eight tackles, while Jay Brandis had seven tackles and a sack.

St. Thomas More’s Matthew Eastmo was 20-of-41 for 302 yards and two touchdowns.

Jacob Henderson had four catches for 82 yards, while Evan Henderson had four receptions for 101 yards in the loss.

Winner (5-0) hosts Mobridge-Pollock Friday.
