Sanborn Central/Woonsocket tops Iroquois in four sets

IROQUOIS — Marissa Weber had 13 kills to lead the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket volleyball team over Iroquois 22-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-19 Thursday.

Rachel Selland had 20 assists, Savanna Swenson recorded seven digs and Myah Selland added four blocks in the win.

The Blackhawks (8-4) won the JV game and play Bridgewater-Emery at noon today in the Cornbelt Conference Classic in Howard.

MC/MV end in tie against Freeman Academy

FREEMAN — Freeman Academy and Mitchell Christian/Mount Vernon ended in a 0-0 decision Friday in a high school boys’ soccer game.

Freeman Academy outshot MC/MV 18-1. MC/MV goalkeeper Phillip Millar had 18 saves.

MC/MV (2-8-1) plays Sioux Falls Christian Tuesday in Sioux Falls. Freeman Academy (3-4-3) hosts Harrisburg at 3 p.m. today.

DWU falls to Midland in 3

FREMONT, Neb. — The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team fell to No. 5 Midland University 25-18, 25-13, 25-13 Friday.

Sarah Kruse had 11 kills, Briana Jung recorded 12 assists and Maggie Stehly added seven digs for DWU (4-13).

The Tigers play at Hastings at 3 p.m. today.
