Pheasant Country holds annual habitat education banquet
The Pheasant Country chapter of Pheasants Forever held its 33rd annual Habitat Education Banquet at the Moose Lodge Sunday in Mitchell, with 130 area landowners and Pheasants Forever members in attendance.
Attendees heard from a number of speakers about farming and ranching practices for conservation and the new Pheasant Country Community Based Access program, which is being funded by locally, starting with $150,000 in area contributions.
The National Pheasant Fest — which will be held for the first time in Sioux Falls Friday through Sunday at the Premier Center — was also discussed.
The Pheasant Country chapter also awarded the $1,000 Mark Peters Scholarship to Becca Koupal, of Mitchell.
