Flooding closing some South Dakota state parks
PIERRE (AP) — Several South Dakota state parks have closed because of flooding.
About half the campsites at Big Sioux Recreation Area near Brandon are closed until flood waters recede. The Valley of the Giants hiking trail and disc golf course are also off limits.
The Visitor Center at Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve in North Sioux City will be closed until at least Monday, depending on conditions.
And Lake Alvin Recreation Area east of Harrisburg and Beaver Creek Nature Area southeast of Brandon are closed due to damage from high flood waters earlier in the week.
