Reward offered in case of bald eagle killed in northeastern SD

SIOUX FALLS (AP) — State and federal wildlife officials are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever shot and killed a young bald eagle in far northeastern South Dakota.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish, and Parks say the protected bird was shot about six miles northeast of New Effington sometime around May 3.

Authorities say people with information can remain anonymous. The amount of the reward would depend on the quality of the information provided.
