Chamberlain, Ethan/Parkston win Scotland Invite titles
SCOTLAND—Scotland High School held its cross-country invitational at the Scotland Sports Complex on Thursday with more than 50 runners competing.
Ethan/Parkston took home the boys team championship, edging Burke by just one point, with Bon Homme coming in third.
Jackson Liewer, of Burke, nipped Chamberlain's Dominic Santiago by one second for the individual championship, with both finishing nearly a full minute in ahead of the rest of the field.
Meanwhile, Ethan/Parkston placed four runners in the top 18, headlined by a third-place finish by Austin Bartelt.
Chamberlain coasted to a win in the girls team standings, recording nine points, which was seven ahead of Ethan/Parkston and 24 points in front of third-place Alcester-Hudson.
The Cubs placed four runners in the top 20, led by Allie Hough in second place and Ella Byers in third. Ethan/Parkston's Lindsey Roth was the meet's champion, finishing with a time of 20:03. Isabelle Brouwer, of Andes Central/Dakota Christian, and Chamberlain's Kinsey Evans rounded out the top five.
