Parkston golfers place 4th at Vermillion Invitational
VERMILLION—The Bluffs Golf Course played host to nine boys golf teams at the Vermillion High School Invitational on Thursday.
Vermillion took advantage of the local course, finishing atop the team standings after shooting 332, which was 12 strokes ahead of second-place Tea Area, which boasted the individual champion, Brock Murphy, who won the invitational by seven strokes.
Parkston finished third in the overall team standings with a 349, which was just five strokes behind Tea Area and two strokes ahead of Lennox.
The Trojans placed two golfers in the top 10, with Carter Kalda placing ninth after posting an 85, while teammate Quinn Bormann was just one stroke behind in 10th place. Matt Ehler placed 13th with an 88, while Kaleb Weber was 25th and Braden Bruening was 29th out of 53 golfers.
