Class B Baseball Tournament: Bon Homme/Scotland downs Madison

SIOUX FALLS — Christian Uecker struck out 12 batters in 6.2 innings and Bon Homme/Scotland picked up a 4-1 win over Madison in the quarterfinals of the South Dakota State Class B High School baseball tournament on Monday.

Uecker allowed three hits in the win and he received just enough run support.

Offensively, Tanner Van Driel went 2-4 with a triple for Bon Homme/Scotland (11-4), which plays Redfield Area (9-5) at noon today in the semifinals. Uecker went 2-4 with a double and had two RBIs. Bryce Scieszinski added a hit and an RBI. Joey Slama, Beau Rothschadl and Josh Schmidt each had a hit apiece.

Josh Giles, Zach Whitlock and Brock Minnaert each had a hit for Madison. Giles took the loss, allowing three runs in 5.1 innings.

Redfield Area 2, Parkston 0

SIOUX FALLS — Redfield Area eked out a two-run win over Parkston in the quarterfinals of the South Dakota State Class B High School baseball tournament on Monday.

Bennett Osborn paced Redfield Area with two hits in the low-scoring affair. Leyton Rohlfs and Peyton Osborn had Redfield Area's each had a hit and an RBI in the win.

Rohlfs hit an RBI single in the first inning and Peyton Osborn's RBI sacrifice fly in the seventh inning were the only runs in the game.

Bennett Osborn earned the win, striking out five batters, scattering five hits and giving up no runs.

For Parkston, Dawson Semmler, Brady Albrecht, Brady Schoenfelder, Nate Doering and Landon Sudbeck each had a hit. Parkston left eight runners stranded on base.

Sudbeck was tagged with the loss, striking out five batters, giving up four hits and two earned runs.

Redfield Area (9-5) plays Bon Homme/Scotland (11-4) at noon today. Parkston ends the season at 10-3.

West Central 2, PGDCWLC 0

SIOUX FALLS — West Central's Brandon McKnight kept the Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake/Corsica-Stickney Honkers off the scoreboard in the quarterfinals of the South Dakota State Class B High School baseball tournament on Monday.

McKnight mowed down 11 batters and gave up no hits in West Central's victory over the Honkers.

West Central was led offensively by Brock Haldeman's two hits, while Kadyn Nolz and Luke Sebert each drove in a run. Sebert and Miles Mutziger each added a hit.

Dylan Mohnen took the loss for the Honkers. He struck out six batters, gave up five hits and two runs (one earned).

West Central (13-1) plays Lennox (16-2) at 2 p.m. today in the semifinals. The Honkers end the season at 10-4.

Lennox 2, Winner/Colome 0

SIOUX FALLS — Lennox out-hit Winner/Colome 7-1 and downed the Royals in the quarterfinals of the South Dakota State Class B High School baseball tournament on Monday.

Winner/Colome mustered just one hit as Lennox's Brock Anderson struck out 11 batters in the shutout.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Royals loaded the bases with two outs. However, Winner/Colome couldn't bring in the game-tying run as Riley Calhoon grounded out to end the game. Ty Bolton had Winner/Colome's lone hit.

For Lennox, Quincy Ihnen and Zach Foss both had two hits. Anderson, Zach Leisinger and Ray Williams each had a hit. Camden Wulf, Holden Wagner and William each drove in a run.

Lennox (16-2) plays West Central (13-1) at 2 p.m. today in the semifinals. Winner/Colome finishes the season 13-1.
