Platte-Geddes boys win home golf meet
PLATTE—The Platte-Geddes boys golf team won its own Platte-Geddes Invitational on Friday. The Black Panthers shot a 222, while Kimball/White Lake placed second with a 268.
Platte-Geddes had the three top finishers, with Peyton Nelson (72) finishing as the individual champion. Stewart Van Zee (75) and Brody Boltjes (75) tied for second. Gregory's Jon Bakke (77) and Platte-Geddes' Payton Foxley (77) tied for fourth place.
Burke/South Central's Taylee Indahl won the individual title with a 75, while teammate Tressa Bull finished second with an 86. Wagner's Caitlyn Simpson shot a 93 and placed third, while Mount Vernon/Plankinton's Regan Klooz and Platte/Geddes' Mariah VanZee tied for fourth with 93's. Burke/South Central won the girls team title with a 259, defeating second place Gregory by 80 strokes.
In Volga, the Howard girls won the Big East Conference team title with a 274. Flandreau placed second (290) and McCook Central/Montrose (298) finished third. McCook Central/Montrose's Kayle Lauck won the individual title with an 88, edging out Flandreau's Keva Burshiem (89) for the crown. Howard's Cassidy Gosmire (90) and Jordan Glanzer (91) placed third and fourth, respectively.
The Chester boys won the team title with a 248. Chester's Cole Pry won the individual title with 79, defeating Sioux Valley's Westin Trenhaile in a playoff.
