Parkston holds off Bon Homme
TABOR — Parkston edged Bon Homme 4-3 in prep baseball action on Monday in Tabor.
Parkston grabbed a 3-0 lead after scoring three runs in the top of the fourth inning, but Bon Homme tied the game with three runs of its own in the bottom of the fifth inning.
In the top of the sixth inning, Dawson Semmler started the inning with a double and came around to score the game-winning run on a Nate Doering RBI single.
Semmler had two runs scored, while Cade Gemar and Bray Albrecht each scored a run. On the mound, Doering picked up the win, allowing three runs on six hits with five strikeouts and no walks in 6 2/3 innings pitched. Landon Sudbeck picked up the final out in relief.
For Bon Homme, Tanner VanDriel and Josh Schmidt each had two hits, while John Kubal had a double. Zach Cuka took the loss, pitching in relief of Mace Merkwan and Tyler Kopp.
Parkston (6-1) plays Turner-Hutchison on Friday in Freeman, while Bon Homme (3-3) plays Wagner on Saturday.
McCook Central/Montrose falls to Baltic
SALEM — Baltic scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull away from McCook Central/Montrose for good and earned a 10-2 win on Monday in Salem.
Baltic outhit MCM 9-4. For the Burros, Trey Anderson, Kyle Tuschen, Hunter Matthaei and Dylan Klinkhammer each had one hit. Raygen Randall took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits with one strikeout in 4 1/3 innings pitched.
MCM (2-5) plays West Central on Wednesday in Humboldt.
