Area baseball roundup: Winner/Colome tops Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman

WINNER — Jackson Kinzer went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs to help push Winner/Colome over Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 7-2 in a high school baseball game on Thursday in Winner.

Kinzer also picked up the win on the mound, allowing one unearned run off one hit in five innings pitched with eight strikeouts. Carter Brickman added two hits and two runs scored, while Layton Thieman, Ty Bolton and Jeremiah Yeaman each had RBIs.

For C/K/L, Remington Rossow had two hits, while Cameron Caldwell and Dilen Anderson had runs scored. Caden Lenz took the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits in five innings pitched.

Winner/Colome (4-0) is scheduled to play Lead-Deadwood and St. Thomas More on Sunday in Winner. C/K/L (1-2) plays Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake/Corsica-Stickney on Tuesday in Platte.

Parkston 7, Turner-Hutchinson 6

PARKSTON — Brady Albrecht hit a two-run walkoff home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to power Parkston past Turner-Hutchinson 7-6 in a high school baseball game on Thursday in Parkston.

Nate Boettcher and Dawson Semmler each had one hit and two runs scored, while Brady Schoenfelder had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Sutton Hohn added two hits, including a double as Parkston finished with six hits.

On the mound, Kade Bialas won in relief of starting pitcher Hohn.

For Turner-Hutchinson, Grant Plucker, Jackson Fiegen and Jace Bridges each had two hits. Fiegen took the loss, allowing three runs on four hits with eight strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings pitched.

Parkston (2-0) plays Vermillion on April 21 in Parkston.

Wednesday's games

Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery 8, McCook Central 7

SALEM — Hunter Pranger scored the game-winning run on a bases loaded walk by Blake Klinkhammer in the top of the seventh inning as the Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery Ducks defeated the McCook Central Burrors 8-7 in a high school baseball game on Wednesday in Salem.

Pranger went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Ducks, while Hayden Gregerson had a double.

Peyton Schroeder earned the win in relief, pitching a scoreless seventh inning with one strikeout.

For McCook Central, Peyton Cleveland, Kyle Tuschen and Collin Kolbeck each had two hits and two RBIs in the loss.

Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery (1-1) is scheduled to play at Baltic today. McCook Central (1-1) plays West Central on Wednesday in Salem.

McCook Central 19, Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery 6

SALEM — In the second game of a doubleheader, McCook Central used a 12-run third inning to power past Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery 19-6 on Wednesday in Salem.

Kyle Tuschen went 3-for-3 with a double and five RBIs, while Rylee Klinkhammer and Collin Kolbeck each had triples and two RBIs. Tuschen earned the win on the mound, giving up three earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings pitched.

For the Ducks, Peyton Schroeder had a double and an RBI, while Craig Lasley had two hits.

Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery (1-1) is scheduled to play at Baltic today. McCook Central (1-1) plays West Central on Wednesday in Salem.

Dell Rapids 12, Howard 2

SIOUX FALLS — Dell Rapids outhit Howard 10-2 and earned a 12-2 win in six innings on Wednesday in Sioux Falls.

Howard's Kalub Carmichael and Colton Spader recorded the lone hits as Howard committed four errors in the loss. Mitch Kramer took the loss, allowing three runs on four hits with four strikeouts in four innings pitched.

Howard (0-1) is scheduled to play Wolsey-Wessington/Miller/Highmore-Harrold today in Miller.
