Round of 16 recap: Madison, Crow Creek advance at Palace
Second-seeded Madison won at the Corn Palace in the Class A boys basketball Round of 16 for the second consecutive season Wednesday, taking down No. 15 seed Aberdeen Roncalli 62-42.
Madison (21-1): Aaron Fiegen led the Bulldogs with 21 points on a perfect 8-for-8 shooting. Jaxon Janke had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while his brother Jadon Janke had 14 points and six rebounds. The Bulldogs made 15-of-21 shots in the first half and finished the game shooting 59 percent, converting 26 of their 34 two-point tries. Up next: Madison will be seeded No. 2 at the Class A state tournament, which begins on March 15 in Rapid City.
Aberdeen Roncalli (14-9): The Cavaliers struggled offensively, shooting 29 percent. Isaac VanOrman had 11 points, while Gus Reede had 10 points in the loss. Madison outrebounded Roncalli 39-18 for the game.

Crow Creek 53, Parker 50
Despite just five points in the final quarter, Crow Creek held on with tough defense late, sealing a trip to the Class A state boys basketball tournament with a Round of 16 victory Wednesday at the Corn Palace.
Crow Creek (20-3): Jayden McBride had 20 points, while Joe Sauze III had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Chieftains, who advance to the state tournament for the first time since 2010. Crow Creek shot only 29 percent from the field but made seven 3-pointers and 12-of-14 free throws.
Parker (17-6): Camden Bialas had 13 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocks, and Trey Christensen had 13 points and eight rebounds. Joe Joffer had eight points, as the Pheasants shot 38 percent and finished the game with a 38-29 rebounding edge but had 21 turnovers to Crow Creek's five.
