Area prep basketball roundup: Tiger girls edge Cougars in overtime

In overtime, Howard edged Burke/South Central 58-52 in girls basketball action at the Dakota Wesleyan University/Culver's Classic on Friday at the Corn Palace.

Howard (11-8): Hilary Albrecht led the Tigers with 22 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Kenedy Koepsell added 15 points and five rebounds for Howard, which outscored B/SC 8-2 in overtime. Koepsell and Albrecht each hit three 3-pointers apiece. Up next: Howard plays at Menno on Monday.

Burke/South Central (12-6): Lahna Matucha and Taylee Indahl scored 14 points apiece for the Cougars. Tressa Bull added 10 points and 10 boards for the Cougars. Up next: B/SC hosts Alcester-Hudson today in Bonesteel.
