Area wrestling roundup: Howard takes second at Little B
PARKSTON—The Howard wrestling team placed second at the 15-team Little B Tournament on Saturday in Parkston. The Tigers accumulated 175.5 points, while Central Lyon/George-Little Rock won the tournament with 186.5 points.
The Tigers had four wrestlers claim first-place finishes to spur the second place finish. Lane Miller (106 pounds), Aidyn Feldhaus (182), E.J. Leetch (195) and Evan Kizer (220) all won their respective weight classes.
McCook Central/Montrose's Blake Gessner defeated Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney's Thomas Baker in the 160-pound weight class.
Warriors claim own invitational
WINNER—The Winner Area wrestling team edged Mobridge-Pollock to win the Winner Invitational on Saturday. The Warriors racked up 233.5 points, while the Tigers finished with 230 points.
The Warriors finished with three individual winners. Kaden Keiser (106 pounds), Wyatt Turnquist (126) and Sam Kruger (145) all claimed titles.
Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon's Jordan Rueb (113), Kaleb Crownover (138) and Dommonick Pechous (152) all claimed individual titles. Burke/Gregory's Jackson Eklund (132) and Jeremiah Beck (182) claimed titles as well.
Blackhawks place fourth at Kingsbury County Invite
ARLINGTON—Wessington Springs/Woonsocket finished fourth at the 13-team
Kingsbury County Invitational on Saturday in Arlington. The Blackhawks finished with 89 points, while Parker won the team title with 156 points.
Wessington Springs/Woonsocket's Tyler Eddy (160 pounds) and Rylie Stevens (195) both claimed runner-up finishes in their weight classes.
Lyman's Bryson Muirhead was the 106-pound champ.
