UCLA edges Coyote men

LOS ANGELES — A comeback came up a little short for the University of South Dakota men's basketball team against UCLA as the Bruins held on for 85-82 victory on Tuesday at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, California.

UCLA claimed a 20-point lead with just over 4 minutes remaining, but the Coyotes cut the lead down to three points. Matt Mooney led USD with 23 points, while Brandon Armstrong chipped in 15 points and Tyler Peterson added 12 points.

Thomas Welsh led UCLA with 19 points and Aaron Holiday recorded 15 points. USD (11-4) plays Northland College on Thursday in Vermillion.
