Iowa St. edges USD women in season opener
AMES, Iowa—A 3-pointer by Iowa State's Adriana Camber with 42 seconds to play sealed the game for the Cyclones, who defeated South Dakota 81-76 in the programs' season openers on Friday afternoon inside Hilton Coliseum.
The game featured seven lead changes with the Coyotes taking their first lead at 38-35 last it the first half.
Iowa State's Bridget Carleton scored 19 of her game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter.
Kate Liveringhouse led the Coyotes with 17 points. Sophomore guard Ciara Duffy joined Liveringhouse in double figures with 11 points and Bradley pitched in 10 more points. Duffy and Bradley both pulled in a team-high five rebounds.
The Coyotes (0-1) return home to host Creighton at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion.
