MHS softball team drops two in Yankton

YANKTON—The Mitchell High School softball team dropped a doubleheader with Yankton on Thursday in Yankton.

Mitchell fell 3-2, despite out-hitting the Gazelles 6-5. In Game Two, the Kernels fell 8-0.

Tori Misiaszek took the loss in the circle in Game One, while Kayla Picht took the loss in Game Two.

Misiaszek allowed three runs on five hits with three strikeouts and she added an RBI. Morgan Schneider added an RBI.

"It was a good defensive game, we just got beat 3-2," MHS head coach coach Jim Misiaszek said. "We played good defense, we just didn't get the timely hit."

In Game Two, Picht allowed five earned runs on eight hits in five innings pitched. The Kernels had six different players recorded one hit.

Mitchell (0-8) plays at Harrisburg on Thursday.
