DWU volleyball team splits on Saturday

On Saturday, the Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team went 1-1 at Corn Palace Classic, falling to Clarke University 3-0 and beating Dakota State University 3-1.

Against Clarke, set scores were 25-13, 25-17 and 30-28, while the set scores against DSU were 25-18, 21-25, 25-16 and 25-16.

Rebecca Frick recorded 16 kills, 16 digs and one ace for DWU against Clarke, while Bridgett Knobbe had 24 assists and Sara Herman, a Reliance native, had a team-high 18 digs.

Against DSU, Frick once again led the Tigers with 15 kills, 17 digs and two aces, while Sydney Fritz, a Winner native, added 10 kills. Darby Duncan had 22 digs and Mallory Cooper finished with 14 digs. Knobbe had 43 assists and eight digs.

DWU (6-3) starts conference play against Mount Marty College at 7:30 p.m. today in Yankton.
