Area baseball: Bon Homme/Scotland nips Parkston/Ethan

PARKSTON—Cole Uecker's single to center field plated Christian Uecker for the go-ahead score and Bon Homme/Scotland edged Parkston/Ethan 2-1 in prep baseball on Thursday in Parkston.

Christian Uecker also pitched four innings, struck out six batters, gave up one hit and allowed zero runs. Tanner VanDriel struck out four batters, gave up two hits and one run for Bon Homme/Scotland. Chase Kortan went 2-for-3 in the win.

Parkston/Ethan's Alex Scott pitched seven strong innings and struck out eight batters, while giving up two hits and one run. Jesse Grosdidier, Brady Albrecht and Alec Hohn each had a hit for Parkston/Ethan.

Bon Homme/Scotland (2-1) will play Dakota Valley on Sunday. Parkston/Ethan (4-2) will play Beresford/Centerville in Beresford on Tuesday.

Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake/Corsica 10, Todd County 0

PLATTE—Chase Pheifer pitched a shutout, while Riley Hoffman and Cole Nachtigal had three hits apiece in Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake/Corsica's 10-0 win over Todd County on Thursday in Platte.

Pheifer struck out three batters and scattered three hits in five innings of work. Hoffman went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple for the Honkers. Nachtigal finished with three singles. Tony Slaba and Jarod Severson both drove in two runs apiece in the win. Kory Peters added a single and a double.

The Honkers (2-0) will play Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman today in Chamberlain.

Winner/Colome 14, Gregory 0

GREGORY—Carter Brickman and Riley Calhoon combined for a 14-0 shutout against Gregory on Thursday in Gregory.

Brickman struck out five batters and issued four walks in four innings pitched. Calhoon fanned two batters in two innings of relief work.

Winner/Colome's bats complemented its pitching staff as the Royals had 10 hits. Calhoon, Brickman and Phillip Jorgensen both had two hits apiece. Drew DeMers and Levi McLanahan both drove in two runs.

Winner/Colome (6-3) will host Hot Springs on Saturday.
