Teener White splits with White Sox

WATERTOWN -- The Mitchell White teener team split a five-inning doubleheader with the Watertown White Sox Friday in Watertown. Mitchell White fell in the first game 7-2 to Watertown. Jacob Jarding took the loss for White as he pitched five innings and gave up four hits with no earned runs. Jarding went 1-for-2 and Kaden Soukup added a hit to lead Mitchell.

Resse Sievert pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs with eight strikeouts as Mitchell White beat Watertown White Sox 10-5 in game two. Soukup went 3-for-4 with a double and Drew Bollinger went 1-for-2 with two walks.

Mitchell White (4-27) will play a scrimmage game against Mitchell Gold 2 p.m. Sunday in Mitchell as they prepare for the state tournament Aug. 1-3 in Pierre.
