WiLdKats top Lyman in three sets

PRESHO — It took three sets for Kimball/White Lake to top Lyman in high school volleyball action Saturday in Presho.

The set scores were 25-20, 25-22, 25-14.

The WiLdKats got a team-high 11 kills from Haley Pazour, while Brooklyn Donald added eight kills and two blocks. Mary Kroupa set up her teammates with 34 assists for K/WL.

Anna Flitner had a match-high 12 kills and 17 digs for Lyman, while Jessica Welter contributed seven kills and three blocks.

The WiLdKats (12-6) play Miller today in Miller, while Lyman (18-7) hosts Jones County Tuesday in Presho.

Wagner 3, Alcester-Hudson 1

CHESTER — Wagner rebounded after dropping the first set to top Alcester-Hudson in four sets in high school volleyball action Saturday in Chester.

The set scores were 21-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-21.

Kim Koupal led the Red Raiders with nine kills and 22 digs, while Ali Kuca and Gina Soukup each added 12 kills.

Kayla Deurmier had a team-high 23 assists for Wagner.

The Red Raiders (16-4) play Mount Vernon/Plankinton today in Wagner. MV/P has won 13 consecutive matches.

Arlington 3, Winner 2

CHESTER —The Winner Warriors lost for just the third time this season, dropping a five-set match to Arlington Saturday in Chester.

The set scores were 17-25, 25-21, 25-14, 19-25, 15-11.

Winner was led by Cassidy Hanson with 12 kills, 30 digs and three aces. Kelsey Bertram added 11 kills and 24 digs for the Warriors, while Lindsey Calhoon contributed 10 kills and 25 digs.

Defensively, Emily Richey had a team-high 51 digs for Winner, while Sara Husher racked up 41 assists.

Winner (19-3) plays Chamberlain Tuesday in Winner.

Andes Central 3, Irene-Wakonda 1

CHESTER — Andes Central topped Irene-Wakonda in four sets Saturday at a high school volleyball event in Chester.

Dennisha Johanneson scored 25 kills for the Eagles along with six blocks and 10 digs.

Andes Central also got 15 kills, nine aces and 14 digs from Payton Johanneson, while Emily Houseman contributed 25 assists and 12 digs.

The Eagles (9-8) play Burke/South Central Tuesday in Lake Andes.
