Nighthawks earn first victory of season in lightning-delayed game

TRIPP — The Tripp-Delmont/Armour football team defeated Marty Indian 36-0 Monday for its first victory of the season.

The game began Friday but because of lightning, it was postponed until Monday. The Nighthawks led 20-0 heading into Monday with 11 minutes left in the second quarter.

Gunnar Dally had a game-high 77 rushing yards and Shane Koster recorded 75 yards on the ground for the Nighthawks. Koster had 59 yards passing, while Thierno Diop brought down 59 receiving yards.

Austin Fischer had six tackles and two interceptions, while Tanner Carda and Dustin Fischer each recorded six tackles in the win.

For Marty, Isaiah Heth led defensively with two tackles. Heth also had 31 yards on the ground for the Braves.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour (1-4) has a bye week and hosts Howard Oct. 11 in Armour. The Braves (0-4) host Andes Central Friday.
