MHS boys' soccer falls to strong Charger squad

The growing pains continue for the Mitchell High School boys soccer team, falling 5-0 to Sioux Falls Christian Saturday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex.

The Kernels (1-3-1) failed to get their offense on track against the talented Chargers (2-0-2) as Mitchell's defense was under assault all afternoon long.

Kernel senior goalkeeper Cole Carlson finished with 16 saves on 21 shots by the SFC attack,

"Cole is a great keeper, but what do you do when you face that many shots," Mitchell coach Jason Wear adding that his team is making strides possessing the ball.

"Our possession has gotten better every match, but our conditioning needs to improve."

The Kernels will next play at home against Mitchell Christian Tuesday at 7 p.m.
