Andes Central tops TDA in straight sets

ARMOUR -- Andes Central defeated Tripp-Delmont/Armour in three sets in high school volleyball Tuesday in Armour. Set scores were 25-12, 25-13, 25-14.

Kellie Winckler recorded nine kills, nine digs and five service aces to lead Andes Central. Krista Winckler had eight kills. Hayli Gray and Dennisha Johanneson each had six kills and Johanneson served four aces. Sierra Svatos had 22 set assists and nine digs.

Andes Central improved to 11-1 and plays at Dakota Christian Thursday.

The offensive leader for Tripp-Delmont/Armour was Kelli Batterman with four kills. Jessica Sandau led the defense with 13 digs and LaNae Fuerst added nine digs. Sandau also had four set assists and one service ace. Batterman had two blocks for the Nighthawks.

TDA is 4-7 this season and plays at Mitchell Christian Thursday.

Platte-Geddes 3, South Central 0

PLATTE -- Platte-Geddes improved its record to 5-4 with a win over South Central in three sets Tuesday. Set scores were 25-11, 25-6, 25-14.

Shelby Rabenburg had seven service aces, five kills and four digs for the Black Panthers. Josie DeGroot had 10 kills, three blocks, five digs and one ace. Mackenzie Millar had one ace, five kills and seven digs. Kelly Knudson had six kills, nine digs and two assists. Kelly Sprik had four digs, 21 assists and two blocks. Maddy Tegethoff had four aces and six digs.

Courtney Dummer had seven service aces for South Central. Ashley Green had seven set assists. Jamie Borszich had four kills and Whitney Hutchison had three kills. Shailhyn Schweigert had five digs.

Platte-Geddes plays at Dakota Christian Tuesday. South Central (3-5) plays Bon Homme Thursday in Tyndall.

Sioux Falls Christian 3, Parkston 0

PARKSTON -- Sioux Falls Christian defeated Parkston 25-11, 25-13, 25-9 Tuesday.

Sioux Falls Christian's Kiara VanderPol had 10 kills and four service aces. Kristin Stern had 10 kills, two blocks and three service aces. Stacy Smidt had six kills and two blocks. Hayley McCarron had 32 set assists and five service aces. Miranda Velgersdyk had five kills and two blocks. Brooke VanGorp had 10 digs and four service aces.

Whitney Weber had three set assists, four digs and one service ace. Kenzie Lee had two kills and eight digs. Laura Weiss had six kills, three blocks, six digs and two aces. Halli Heisinger had three block and two service aces.

Sioux Falls Christian (11-1) hosts Dakota Valley Thursday. Parkston (5-8) plays in Salem Thursday against McCook Central/Montrose.

Corsica/Stickney 3, Kimball 2

KIMBALL -- Corsica/Stickney defeated Kimball in five sets Tuesday in a high school volleyball game. Set scores were 22-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-16, 15-10.

Hope Menning had 11 kills, 16 digs and three service aces for Corsica/Stickney. Jackie Dethlefsen had seven kills and three blocks. Micayla Bamburg had seven kills and four blocks. Rachel Milligan had 19 assists and 14 digs. Brittni Moke had 20 digs.

Corsica/Stickney is 3-11 and plays at Wessington Springs Monday.

Haley Pazour had 15 kills, two blocks and nine digs for Kimball. Emily Sinclair had six aces and 14 digs. Mary Kroupa had 33 set assists and two blocks. Anna Pazour had six service aces.

Kimball (1-9) hosts White Lake Thursday.

Dakota Christian 3, Wessington Springs 1

WESSINGTON SPRINGS -- Dakota Christian defeated Wessington Springs 19-25, 25-23, 25-23, 26-24 Tuesday.

Dakota Christian's Kennedy Muckey had 14 set assists. Amber BaanHofman and Brooklyn VanderPol each had 12 kills. Amber BaanHofman and Abbi BaanHofman each had 16 digs. Dakota Christian is 4-2 and hosts Andes Central Thursday.

Wessington Springs's Traci Orth had eight kills, 26 digs and one service ace. Haley Reider had 10 set assists. Shyanne Kopfmann had 13 blocks. Wessington Springs is 2-8 and plays in the Kimball tournament Saturday.

White Lake 3, Mitchell Christian 1

Maria Nightingale recorded 18 kills in a four set win over Mitchell Christian Tuesday in Mitchell. Set scores were 25-19, 21-25, 25-13, 25-18.

Clara Moeller had nine kills for the Wolverines. Hailey Mohnen recorded eight digs. Kim Munsen had 35 set assists. Erin Beckmann served four aces and Jazmyn Hinker served three aces. Nightingale blocked four times. White Lake (9-5) plays at Kimball Thursday.

Brittany Zoss led the Eagles with five kills, three blocks, 13 digs and five service aces. Ellie Bleekers had six kills, three blocks, 10 digs and four service aces. Emily Reynen had seven kills and seven blocks. Emily Schrag had 14 set assists. Lindsay Thompson had eight set assists and five digs and Kelsey Asmus had six digs. Mitchell Christian is 2-7 this season and hosts Tripp-Delmont/Armour Thursday.

Bridgewater-Emery 3, Hanson 2

ALEXANDRIA -- Justine Dye recorded 15 kills and 17 digs to lead Bridgewater-Emery over Hanson in five sets Tuesday. Set scores were 25-19, 17-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-12.

Mackenzie Schultz had 28 set assists and 13 digs for the Huskies. Brenda Weber had 19 digs and Aly Hanssen and Chesney Arend each added 13 digs. Tara Kayser and Mallory Haiar each had seven kills. Shelby Schultz served two aces.

Kynedi Cheeseman led the Beavers with 13 kills and 12 digs. Abby Kayser had 13 digs. Lindsi Dey had seven kills. Kelli Wenande had three service aces. Kendra Cheeseman had 15 set assists and Cassidy Graham had 10.

Bridgewater-Emery is 8-3 this season and hosts Marion Thursday in Emery. Hanson is 9-4 and plays at Canistota Thursday.

Gayville-Volin 3, Canistota 1

CANISTOTA -- Vanessa Ryken recorded 17 set assists, 12 digs and four service aces in Gayville-Volin's win over Canistota in four sets Tuesday. Set scores were 24-26, 25-14, 25-17, 25-13.

Kelia Barta had eight kills, two blocks and five digs for Gayville-Volin. Rachel Haas had 14 digs, three digs and two service aces. Nikki Guy served two aces and had six kills, six digs and three blocks. Adisson Bertrand had six kills and two service aces.

Kelsie Rotert had 17 digs and two service aces for Canistota. Natasha Letcher had eight kills and 10 digs. Sydney Randall had 11 digs. Brianna Buseman recorded six kills and eight digs. Chloe Nielsen had 26 set assists and ten blocks. Jenny Hofer had five kills and six blocks.

Canistota is 2-9 and hosts Hanson Thursday.

Flandreau 3, McCook Central/Montrose 1

FLANDREAU -- Flandrea defeated McCook Central/Montrose 25-20, 25-19, 23-25, 26-24 Tuesday.

Anna Olinger had 14 kills and Stefani Matthis recorded 11 kills for the Fighting Cougars. Jean Skoglund had six kills and 22 digs. C.J. Ristesund had three kills, nine digs and two blocks. Laura Klaudt had 23 set assists. Dana Kirby had 11 set assists.

Flandreau (5-9) plays at Dell Rapids Thursday. McCook Central (3-9) hosts Parkston Thursday in Salem.

Wagner 3, Bon Homme 1

TYNDALL -- After dropping the first set, Wagner's high school volleyball team responded by taking the final three to defeat Bon Homme 21-25, 25-16, 25-9, 25-12 Tuesday in Tyndall.

Jessa Doom had 26 assists and seven aces in the win, while Sydney Breen led Wagner with 15 digs. Kim Koupal had a match-high eight kills and Alex Dvorak finished with seven kills.

Alie Adams had 15 assists for Bon Homme, while Jody Kriz finished with 18 digs and Emily Pechous had 14 digs. Caitlin McLouth led the team with seven kills.

Wagner, which also won the JV match, improved to 14-1 on the season and takes on Vermillion Tuesday in Vermillion.

Bon Homme (8-7) returns to action to face South Central Thursday in Tyndall.

Winner 3, Colome 0

WINNER -- Winner defended its home court Tuesday, taking down Colome 3-0 in high school volleyball action in Winner.

Set scores were 25-14, 25-16, 25-17.

Lindsay Calhoon recorded 13 digs and nine kills for Winner, while Sara Husher had a match-high 14 assists.

For Colome, Rachel Shippy finished with eight digs and Tracy Routh had eight assists.

Winner improved to 10-5 and takes on Todd County Tuesday in Winner. Colome dropped to 0-9 with the loss. Winner won the JV game 25-21, 25-12.

Marion 3, Scotland 1

MARION -- Marion improved to 9-1 on the season with a 3-1 win over Scotland in high school volleyball action Tuesday in Marion.

Katherin Luke had 22 assists and 19 digs in the win, while Kylie Hughes finished with 17 kills and 12 digs for Marion. Josie Schmidt had 10 kills, Devin Nelson had 19 assists, Erica Schoenwald had 20 digs and Ashley Rosenwald-Muller had 13 digs and nine kills.

Christy Mogck finished with 27 digs for Scotland. Kennidy Asche had 26 digs, Carley Skorepa had 10 kills, Kendra Rokusek had 14 digs and Amber Alvey recorded 22 assists as Scotland dropped to 4-5 and plays Ethan Thursday in Scotland.

Marion returns to action to take on Bridgewater/Emery Thursday in Emery.

Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 3, Howard 2

RAMONA -- Oldham-Ramona/Rutland and Howard went back-and-forth before Oldham-Ramona/Rutland came away with a 3-2 win in high school volleyball action Tuesday in Ramonda.

Set scores were 25-19, 24-26, 25-21, 14-25, 15-11.

Sydney Thompson had 25 assists for Howard, while McKenna Rudebusch recorded 20 digs and Kelsey Dawson led the team with 12 kills, two blocks and three aces.

Howard dropped to 4-7 on the season, but did win the JV match.

Wall 3, Lyman 1

WALL -- The Lyman high school volleyball team won the first set but lost in four sets against Wall Tuesday in Wall.

Set scores were 20-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-22.

No stats were available despite attempts to reach coaches.

Lyman (6-5) plays in Chamberlain Thursday.
