Gregory tops Dakota Christian in four sets

NEW HOLLAND -- Cheyenne Salonen recorded 13 kills and four service aces to lead Gregory over Dakota Christian in four sets Tuesday. Set scores were 22-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-20.

Courtney Opbroek had 10 kills and 13 digs for Gregory. Desiree Stephen had nine kills and 19 digs. Sierra Thomas had 33 assists.

Amber Baan Hofman recorded five kills, 11 digs, three blocks and two aces for Dakota Christian. Jessica Kaemingk had five kills, 10 digs and two aces. Germaine Big Crow had seven assists and six digs. Abbi Baan Hofman had five blocks, nine digs and two aces. Brooklyn VanderPol had six digs, four blocks and two aces. Kennedy Muckey had 10 digs and eight service aces.

Gregory is 8-1 this season and plays in the Cavalier Clash Saturday in Tyndall. Dakota Christian plays at Wessington Springs Monday and is 3-2 on the season.

Sioux Falls Christian 3,

McCook Central/Montrose 0

Montrose -- Stacy Smidt recorded 15 kills as Sioux Falls Christian defeated McCook Central/Montrose in three sets Tuesday. Set scores were 25-11, 25-14, 25-14.

Miranda Velgersdyk had eight kills and 10 digs for Sioux Falls Christian. Kiara VanderPol had eight service aces. Hayley McCarron recorded 30 assists and Brooke VanGorp had 12 digs.

Jean Skoglund led McCook Central/Montrose with 11 digs, four block, three kills, and one ace. Natasha Krempges and CJ Ristesund each had two kills. Laura Klaudt had six assists. Kayty Knudsen had seven digs and Brianna Painter had six.

Sioux Falls Christian's record this season is 9-1 and the Chargers will take on Harrisburg on Thursday at home. McCook Central/Montrose is 3-8 this season and plays at Menno Thursday.

Chamberlain 3, Todd County 0

CHAMBERLAIN -- The Chamberlain Cubs defeated the Todd County Lady Falcons in three sets Tuesday with set scores 25-20, 25-16, and 25-13.

Laura Pazour and Logan Pickner had 10 kills. Jaymee Knippling had three blocks. Kennedy Wagner had nine digs. Laura Pazour had five aces. Abbey Handel had two aces.

Todd County Selina Big Crow had four aces Big Crow had three kills. Bre Bad Milk had three aces. Miki Colombe had three aces. Jordyn Hespe had three blocks.

Chamberlain is 3-2 this season and hosts Wessington Springs Thursday. Todd County is at 0-4 for the season and plays Little Wound Thursday in Kyle.

Wagner 3, Avon 0

AVON -- Wagner improved to 8-0 this season with a win over Avon in three sets. Set scores were 25-13, 25-8, 25-12.

Wagner's Jessa Doom had seven aces and 37 set assists. Nicole Weber had 15 kills. Delaynie Dickerson had nine digs. Wagner next plays at the Cavalier Clash in Tyndall Saturday.

Avon's Chesney Nagel had four kills. Emily Mudder and Amanda Kocmich each had six digs.

Avon is 2-4 and hosts Hanson Thursday.

Chester Area 3, Howard 0

HOWARD -- Howard dropped three sets in a loss to Chester Area Tuesday night. Set scores were 25-18, 25-7, 25-13.

Chester's Jenna Reiff had nine kills and two block. Jade Wolf had 26 set assists. Rachel Reiff had two blocks and Erin Benson got seven digs.

Chester is 8-2 and hosts Flandreau Thursday.

Jenna Clark and Kelsey Dawson each had seven kills for Howard. Sydney Thompson had nine set assists and Sam Hughes had 12 digs.

Howard is 4-3 and hosts Canistota Thursday.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 3,

Wessington Springs 1

Woonsocket -- Sanborn Central/Woonsocket stayed undefeated this season with a four set win over Wessington Springs Tuesday 23-25, 25-19, 25-11, and 25-3.

Sanborn Central's Morgan Selland had nine kills and one block. Marissa Weber had 10 kills and six aces. Rachel Selland had six kills and one block. Candace Page-Marten had 18 assists and 18 digs. Rachelle Moore had 25 digs.

Wessington Springs was led by Traci Orth had four kills and one ace. Shyanne Kopfmann had three kills, eight blocks. Cassidy Christopherson-Musick had three kills. Haley Reider had five assists and two aces. Devin Tebay had 34 digs.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket is 8-0 and plays in the Bridgewater-Emery Tournament Saturday against Canistota. Wessington Springs is 1-4 and plays in Chamberlain Thursday.

Platte-Geddes 3, Colome 0

PlATte -- Platte-Geddes picked up a win in three sets with scores 25-15, 25-10, 25-11 over Colome Tuesday.

Shelby Rabenberg led the Black Panthers with nine kills, eight digs, and four service aces. Kelly Knudson had nine digs, eight kills, and two aces. Josie Degroot had nine kills, two aces, and one block. Kelli Sprik recorded 25 assists, four digs, and four aces. Mackenzie Millar recorded four kills, five digs, and one block. Madi Whalen had four kills and two aces. Maddy Tegethoff had five digs and one service ace.

Becca Moorehead had three kills for the Cowgirls. Mariah Kinzer had two kills. Tracy Routh had seven set assists and Rachel Shippy had five digs.

Platte-Geddes is 4-3 this season and plays Andes Central Thursday in Lake Andes. Colome is 0-8 for the season and plays in Winner Monday.

Wolsey-Wessington 3, Mitchell Christian 1

Wolsey -- Mitchel Christian fell to Wolsey-Wessington Tuesday 17-25, 25-4, 25-10, 25-9.

Ellie Bleeker and Destiny Reimnitz each had two aces for the Eagles. Brittany Zoss had 14 digs. Emily Schrag had 13 digs and six set assists. Emily Reynen had seven kills and two blocks. Bleeker had five kills.

MCS is 2-3 and plays Mount Vernon/Plankinton Thursday in Mount Vernon.

Bon Homme 3,

Tripp-Delmont/Armour 1

TYNDALL -- Liz Kubal recorded 10 aces to lead Bon Homme's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory against Tripp-Delmont/Armour.

Set scores were 23-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-17.

Bon Homme's Caitlin McLouth had 13 kills and six blocks, while Jody Kriz tallied 20 digs on the night. Alie Adams led all players with 25 assists.

TDA's Rachel Mora had 12 kills, LaNae Fuerst recorded 11 kills and Kelli Batterman tallied three kills in the match.

Next, Bon Homme (5-4) plays Irene/Wakonda, while TDA (2-4), which won the JV match, plays Freeman Academy Thursday.

Bridgewater-Emery 3, Freeman 2

FREEMAN -- The Bridgewater-Emery volleyball team rallied to beat Freeman in a tight 3-2 match Tuesday in Freeman.

Set scores were 19-25, 25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 15-12.

BE's Mackenzie Schultz recorded 28 assists and nine digs, Justin Dye had 10 kills, 15 digs and three blocks and Aly Hanssen recorded 18 digs, nine kills and four aces.

Freeman's Grace Gering led all players with 29 assists and added 19 digs and four aces. Dina Soulek recorded 14 kills, 24 digs and two aces.

BE (4-1) won the JV match and host Viborg-Hurley Thursday, while Freeman (2-3) host Tripp-Delmont/Armour Thursday.

Parkston 3, Corsica/Stickney 1

PARKSTON -- Parkston picked up a win over Corsica/Stickney Tuesday 25-17, 26-24, 22-25, 25-22.

Whitney Weber had 12 set assist, eight digs, and three aces for the Trojans. Laura Weiss had 11 kills, six block, four digs, and four aces. MacKenzie Lee had six kills, two block, six digs, and four aces. Parkston is 3-5 and plays Thursday in Lennox.

Corsica/Stickney Kara Prien had seven kills and nine digs. Jackie Dethlefsen had 14 kills, nine blocks, and three digs. Brianna Kuyper had 22 set assists, 11 digs, and two aces. Corsica/Stickney is 1-7 and plays in Ethan Thursday.

Winner 3, Lyman 1

Presho -- Cassidy Hanson recorded 18 kills and 23 to lead Winner over Lyman 3-1 Tuesday. Set scores were 16-25, 25-14, 25-15, 25-15.

Tawny Sherman and Lindsey Calhoon each had eight kills for the Warriors. Sara Husher had 16 set assists and Kristin Hennebold had 14. Hennebold had six service aces and Husher had four. Calhoon had 24 digs.

Lyman's top server was Chesney Garnos with three aces. Garnos also had 28 digs. Anna Flitner had nine kills. Haley Halverson and Flitner each had three blocks. Bailey Almond had 18 set assists.

Winner is 7-4 and plays at the Big Dakota Conference Saturday in Stanley County. Lyman is 5-4 and hosts Bennett County Saturday in Presho.

Colman-Egan 3, Canistota 2

Colman -- The Canistota Hawks fell to Colman-Egan Tuesday 3-2. Set scores were 19-25, 25-17, 25-12, 20-25, 15-11.

Chloe Nielsen had 17 set assists for Canistota. Kelsie Rotert had 15 digs and Sydney Randall had nine. Jenny Hofer had six blocks and four kills. Brianna Buseman recorded four blocks and three service aces. Natasha Letcher, Morgan Larson, and Lexy Sandman had six kills each.

Canistota is 1-4 and plays in Howard Thursday.

Andes Central 3, Scotland 0

SCOTLAND -- Andes Central is undefeated after a 3-0 win over Scotland Tuesday. Set scores were 25-21, 25-20, 25-10.

Dennisha Johanneson and Krista Winckler each had eight kills for the Lady Eagles. Winckler also had 15 digs. Kellie Winckler recorded seven kills and nine digs. Sierra Svatos had 22 set assists and Latasha Dion had 15 digs. Johanneson and Kellie Winckler each scored four service aces.

Andes Central is 5-0 this season and hosts Platte-Geddes Thursday in Lake Andes.

Kennidy Asche had seven kills and 19 digs for the Highlanders. Caley Skorepa had six kills, five blocks, and 24 digs. Sam Geiman recorded five kills, 15 digs, and three service aces. Kendra Rokusek added 12 digs and Christy Mogck added 11.

Scotland is in action at the Cavalier Clash Saturday in Tyndall. The Highlanders season record is 3-1.

White Lake 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0

MILLER -- White Lake defeated Sunshine Bible Academy in three sets Tuesday night 25-15, 25-12, 25-9.

Kim Munser recorded 20 set assists for White Lake. Maria Nightingale had 11 kills and two blocks. Jazmine Hinker had seven kills and Rose Konechne had five service aces.

Erin Rogers and Rebekah Konechne had two service aces each for Sunshine Bible Academy. Tricia Wilkins and Cassie Beckwith got three kills each. Beckwith also had three blocks.

White Lake improved to 4-5 on the season and plays at Mitchell Christian Monday. Sunshine Bible plays Sully Buttes Thursday in Onida.

Marion 3, Hanson 1

MARION -- Erica Schoenwald had 15 kills to lead the Marion Bears over Hanson 3-1 Tuesday. Set scores were 25-16, 23-25, 25-23, 25-19.

Kylie Hughes had 11 kills and 23 digs for Marion. Katherin Luke had 25 set assists and 18 digs. Devin Nelson had 14 set assists and 19 digs. Kaitlyn Engbrecht got 25 digs. Josie Schmidt and Hughes each had three service aces.

Abby Kayser, Lindsi Dey and Kendra Cheeseman each had three service aces for the Beaverettes. Erika Nelson, Cassidy Graham, and Kynedi Cheeseman each had seven kills. Kendra Cheeseman had 13 assists and Keira Goergen had 10. Kayser had 17 digs, Dey had 15 and Kynedi Cheeseman had 14.

Marion is 7-1 this season and hosts Centerville Thursday. Hanson is 5-3 and plays Thursday at Avon.
