Love suspended two games for stepping on Scola

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has been suspended two games for stomping on Rockets forward Luis Scola's face in their game on Saturday.

The NBA announced the suspension on Monday. The incident occurred when Scola fell to the court during the third quarter. As Love headed back to the other end, he stepped on Scola's face and upper body.

Love said after the game that the stomp was not intentional and he went to the Rockets' locker room to apologize to Scola.

Jill Young scores 19, SDSU beats Oral Roberts 70-51

BROOKINGS -- The South Dakota State women's basketball team defeated Oral Roberts 70-51 on Monday night at the Frost Arena in Brookings.

The win moves SDSU to 17-7 overall and 12-1 in the Summit League.

It was the Jackrabbits' eighth straight victory and puts the team three games ahead of Oral Roberts (15-9 overall, 9-4 Summit) for the lead in the conference.

Mitchell native, Jill Young led the charge for SDSU with 19 points and 10 rebounds, both were team highs.

The Jackrabbits held a small lead at half, 29-26, but outscored Oral Roberts 41-25 in the second half.

SDSU's next game will be on Saturday in another Summit League matchup, as it takes on UMKC in Kansas City, Mo.

Dakota Wesleyan wrestling team adjusts dual start

The final dual for the Dakota Wesleyan wrestling team against Hastings will be at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Wellness Center on the Dakota Wesleyan campus. The dual was originally scheduled for 7 p.m.

Super Bowl draws record 111.3M viewers on NBC

NEW YORK (AP) -- For the third consecutive year, the Super Bowl has set a record as the most-watched television show in U.S. history.

The Nielsen Co. said Monday that an estimated 111.3 million people watched the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots on Sunday night. That narrowly beat the 111 million who watched Green Bay's win over Pittsburgh last year.

NBC was blessed by a competitive game between two teams that played one of the Super Bowl's most memorable games four years ago, with one of them representing the largest media market in the country.
