Pheasant Country Pheasants Forever Chapter No. 872 held its 32nd annual Seed Distribution Day on Saturday outside of Mitchell.

The event allows seed to be distributed for planting wildlife food plots, with Pheasant Country encouraging landowners avoid to harvesting the food plots until the following spring.

The event took place at the Ranek Ag Fertilizer plant and more than 50 vehicles were in line when the event started at 8 a.m.

Each landowner paid their membership which entitled them to seed and a Fall Pheasants Forever Banquet ticket on Oct. 20 and more than 150 area landowners received seed for wildlife food plots.

Pheasants Forever landowner/members received milo and millet seed at half price and a limited number of traps were available at a reduced price for trapping predators.

More than 20 volunteers were on hand for the event, with Mike Kuchera serving as chairman for the event for the 32nd time. Volunteer Wenton Peters lined up coffee and rolls donated by area businesses to hand out to those receiving seed and volunteering their time.
