Pheasant Country chapter honored for habitat efforts

The Pheasants Forever Pheasant Country Chapter held its 32nd Annual Landowner Habitat Education evening at the Moose Lodge on Sunday.

USDA National Resources Conservation Services State Conservationist Jeff Zimprich spoke on habitat and soil health. Ducks Unlimited Director of Development Terry Kostinec gave our chapter a Life Sponsor plaque for helping Ducks Unlimited with funding to restore habitat. Our local Pheasants Forever Farm Biologist Josh Erwin gave a talk on how he can help landowners set up CRP on their properties.

The winner of the annual $1,000 Mark Peters Scholarship award is Spencer Neugebauer, son of Ed and Lisa Neugebauer, who read his winning essay on how pheasant hunting impacts local communities.

Our Annual Seed Distribution Day will be held on April 8 at Ranek Fertilizer (formerly Big Green) for PF members for wildlife food plots. We will start distributing seed beginning at 8:30 a.m. until it is gone.
