LETTER: Midterms a chance to vote for Christian values

(metro creative)

To the Editor:

Even if I thought Bjorkman was a better man for South Dakota than Dusty Johnson, which I do not, I would be compelled to vote for Johnson because the national Democratic party appears to be totally sold out to the destruction of the Christian roots of America's social/economic system and freedom as we know it.

It is frightening to see the spiritually and morally bankrupt national Democratic party fight for abortion on demand at any time for any reason, justify same sex marriage, go to the mat to defend the gay rights agenda, support open borders and illegal immigration and deny the existence of an Islamic invasion of terror with the Quran's mandated jihad designed to destroy freedom of speech, freedom of religion and virtually all of the U.S. Constitution until we all convert to Islam or die. These points are just some of the Democratic strongholds indicating their moral decay in this great spiritual war.

Yes, I voted for Donald Trump, mostly because it was plain to see how disastrous Hillary would be for America. Frankly, I never had much hope for the thrice-married, gambling-casino-rich-guy to really make a difference for Christian America, but voting for more of Obama's wicked ways was not an option. Party platform does matter, and we need team support for Trump.

Midterm elections are a national referendum to support our president, who has turned America's economy around, strengthened our military power and kept his campaign promises to support Judeo-Christian values in America better than any president I can remember in my 70-year lifetime. He truly is making America great again, but it is up to Christians to vote for representatives who will best support Christian values. In fact, I believe the soul of America is on trial at the ballot box.

I believe Christians, not Muslims, homosexuals or communists, are God's people. And God said in 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
