Ada Kott, 77, of Kimball, SD passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 at her home. Funeral Services are 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Kimball Protestant Parish. A Committal Service will follow at Kimball Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 21, 2013 with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service. Mount Funeral Home of Kimball is assisting with arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family through www.mountfuneralhome.com.

Ada Marie Sievert was born on February 15, 1936 to John Carl and Evelyn (Fouberg) Sievert in Woonsocket, SD. She attended country school and was united in marriage to Emil Marcus Kott on April 15, 1962 in Forestburg, SD. From this union came a daughter, Nancy. Ada took pleasure in being a housewife and helped out on their farm southeast of Kimball, SD until they retired, moving into Kimball October of 1988.

Ada was an active member of Protestant Parish and Drips American Legion #130 Auxiliary of Kimball. She enjoyed cutting quilt blocks and bowling.

Grateful for having shared in Ada’s life: her daughter, Nancy Beckman and husband, Steve of White Lake, SD; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Keith Ehlers of Kimball, SD, Steven Ehlers and wife, Nicky (Gabriel, Zachary and Alliana) of Mitchell, SD and Julie Ehlers of White Lake, SD; three sisters: Betty Thompson, Darlene Mentele and Rosetta Sievert; a brother, Maynard Sievert; two sisters-in-law: Sandy Sievert and Ella Varilek; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

Ada was preceded in death by: her daughter, Rita (1982); her husband, Emil (1997); her grandparents; her parents, John and Evelyn; two brothers: Raymond Sievert and Harold Sievert; three sisters: Lucille Sievert, Judy Sievert and Dorothy (Roy) Kluth; five brothers-in-law: Ronald Thompson, Jim Mentele, Elmer (Gladys) Kott, Charlie Varilek and Clarence Kott; and two sisters-in-law: Kathryn Sievert and Margaret Thompson.
