Snow’s coming! Storm to bring 3 to 5 inches to Mitchell
A blast of winter weather is coming as a band of snow will cruise across eastern South Dakota today and Friday.
According to the National Weather Service, snow will begin to fall late Thursday morning and throughout the day. Accumulations are forecasted between 3 and 5 inches, with snow tapering off early Friday morning around midnight. A swath from Pierre to Mitchell is expected to be heaviest in southeastern South Dakota.
While winds speeds are expected to be tame between 5 and 15 mph to alleviate some worries of blowing snow, cold temperatures are expected to move in Friday and Saturday. Friday’s high is 8 with an overnight low of 7-degrees below zero.
