Q. Now that the city demolished the former Garden of Eden building, at 214 W. First Ave., it has been left closed off by orange cones and a blockade for several weeks. Are they going to clean it up? When?

A. Terry Johnson, the city's deputy public works director, said the street department plans to remove all of the existing concrete and concrete bunkers, and then fill the area in with sand and gravel to create a level surface for a parking lot.

The city plans on completing the project yet this year, Johnson said.

The city bought the former Garden of Eden building in 2012 for $87,500. The property is located near the site where the city plans to build a new city hall.
