Groton’s Stanley re-elected as water development district leader

Chairman Randy Stanley, of Groton, was reelected as chairman of the James River Water Development District (JRWDD) at the District’s annual meeting held in Pierre on Jan. 15.

The board also re-elected Randy Grismer, of Aberdeen, to serve as secretary and elected Dan Klimisch, of Yankton, as vice chairman. Gary Boomsma, of Wolsey, will continue as the district’s treasurer.

The district awarded $21,970 to the United State Geological Survey for operation and maintenance of three stream flow gaging stations on the James River near Stratford, Redfield and Yankton. These funds will provide quality hydrologic data on the James River.
