Old airport terminal in Pierre to be torn down after event
PIERRE (AP) — Crews start tearing down the old airport terminal in Pierre this week. Demolition starts Thursday after an event that will give people once last chance to walk through the building that operated for more than 50 years.
KCCR-AM reported the terminal has been empty since a new building opened a year ago. It has since been used for training by law enforcement and fire crews.
According to federal rules, the old terminal has to be demolished.
