LA man arrested in stabbing at Sturgis rally in SD

STURGIS (AP) -- A Louisiana man is in custody after a stabbing at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota that put an 80-year-old man in intensive care.

The media reports that Myron Eliason, of Belle Fourche, was on his way to the rally to sell American flags for the Disabled American Veterans organization when he picked up a hitchhiker who later allegedly stabbed him in the chest three times. Eliason was taken to a Rapid City hospital.

The suspect did not immediately make a court appearance to be formally charged.
