South Dakota event focuses on homeland security

SIOUX FALLS (AP) -- Government agents and officials from the private sector are gathered in Sioux Falls to learn about human trafficking and how to stop it as part of South Dakota's annual Homeland Security Conference.

The annual two-day conference provides training in handling such sensitive situations. It's set to wrap up Wednesday.

The sessions are held at the Sheraton Convention Center and have focused on drug cartels, explosive devices, extremism and information management.
